Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat

The Hurricanes and Heat will go at each other tonight and Wednesday. So if you like what you see, don’t be afraid to check out these markets again for Wednesday’s game.

Hobart Hurricanes to win Head-to-Head @ $1.55

The Hobart Hurricanes are set to steal 1st place on the BBL10 ladder tonight as they take on the winless Brisbane Heat.

The Heat will go in without Bash Brother and captain Chris Lynn due to injury, making their batting line-up sub-par with openers Milenko and Heazlett only posting 1 half century between them, in each of their last 25 matches in the Big Bash.

Jimmy Peirson – Brisbane Heat Top Run Scorer @ $5.90

If you want to boost your multi this week, then Jimmy Peirson to be top run scorer for the Heat is an interesting one. In the last 25 innings of each of the Heats top 4 batsmen (Heazlett ($3.85), Milenko ($5.70), Cooper ($4.86) and Bryant ($4.05)), they have only mustered up a measly 3 half centuries between them.

Whereas, Heat wicketkeeper Jimmy Peirson has made 2 half centuries in only his last 12 games, one of them even against the Hurricanes, demonstrating his generous value @ $5.90.

Brisbane Heat – Highest Opening Partnership @ $2.26

Brisbane’s bowlers this season have been eerily consistent at getting wickets early, so consistent that they have taken a wicket on the 2nd ball of every match so far this season.

When you add in the fact that the Hurricanes openers have struggled to spark together, producing 0, 63, 1, 1 in their 4 opening partnerships this season, this is a nice leg that will more than double your money.

Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars

Melbourne Stars to win Head-to-Head @ $1.73

In this blockbuster, Sydney Thunder will be looking to get their revenge from 2 weeks ago where the Stars took 8 wickets in the last 8 overs to save themselves from a shock defeat.

The Stars, who have drifted to $1.73 from their $1.55 odds when these teams last went head-to-head, could very easily be sitting top of the ladder if it weren’t for an untimely injury to bowler Coulter-Nile. The injury forced part-time spinner Maxwell to bowl the last over on Boxing Day, which went for 20 runs and lost the Stars the game.

If you also take away the Thunders underserved yet jaw dropping win over the Heat, then this match up could easily be 1st vs 5th, showing the Stars great value @ $1.73.

Liam Hatcher – MelbournStars Top Wicket Taker @ $4.5

Offering odds of $4.50, that haven’t moved since last game, despite being top wicket taker, Liam Hatcher’s recent form is no joke. After taking an easy 16 wickets from 3 games in the Sheffield Shield, Hatcher has burst onto the BBL scene, taking 7 wickets in only 3 games for the Stars so far.

Also, with a quick bowler winning the Stars Top Wicket Taker in the last 5 games against the Thunder, Hatcher will look to replicate his 3 wicket haul that he obtained last week against when these heavyweights played one another.

Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers

Sydney Sixers to win Head-to-head @ $1.70

The Sixers are the form side in the competition. They’ve got talent and depth that no other team can promote, which has only been strengthened by the recent addition of Jason Holder.

The Renegades who appear to being trying to replicate India’s performance at Adelaide Oval last week, being bowled out for 60 and 80 in 2 of their last 3 games, are more than likely to fall once against to the Sixers who haven’t lost to them since BBL8.

Aaron Finch or Shaun Marsh – Renegades Top Run Scorer @ $3.15 & $3.20

If you want to hedge your bets for this game though, then you’ll find some good value in either Finch or Marsh to be top scorer. With a batting line-up lacking recent form and consistency, the veterans (Finch and Marsh) are the only chance the Renegades have of stealing this unwinnable game.
