TATURA R1  #7  YULONG SOVEREIGN $5.60

This colt has caught the eye a few times at the jump-outs. He was given a quite time with Voyage De Lune. He also won another jump-out in decent time with Munitions and Palacio Musico behind. I think he can go forward and take catching on debut. #8 Clean Machine dropping back from city class races looks the hardest to beat. #5 Deora would not surprise to see improvement with the tongue tie going on. Including in exotics.

TATURA R2 #10   UNIVERSAL LADY  $2.30

She went around in good company in her first preparation. Looks to have come back well this time in and jumped out well enough against a couple that have already won races. Next best for exotics #2 Mister Monaro and #14 Melisandre Rossa. #13 Abated did not have the best of luck last start at Ballarat, was held up in the straight.

RANDWICK R2 #15  IT’S ME $1.62

Pretty short but won both her starts impressively and looks untapped. Think #17 Talihina can run a place first up with no weight on her back.

RANDWICK R5 #7  RELOADED $4.45

Tipped him first up because I think he has returned this preparation in good order and can go to another level. Did enough there and should be in the finish again here.

RANDWICK R7 #2  CATALYST $8.60

I developed a bit of a crush on this horse after watching his New Zealand replays before he ran in the CS Hayes at Flemington. He just oozes class to me, and I thought he was going to win easy first up in Australia, but the Alligator just proved too tough. The next start was too bad to be true and if he has improved with age, I think he can be competitive here each way. Just got to hope and prayer for those gaps to appear in the straight.

CAULFIELD R3 #8  PORTLAND SKY $5.00

I sent this colt out as an early first starter bet when he won at Ballarat. I did so because he had jumped out very well in good company on many occasions. I think he has nice ability and can take the next step again. The 2nd placed horse did have Tagaloa and Hard Landing form.

CAULFIELD R6 #7  MALICORNE $16.20

Will wait and see how River Twain goes today. If runs well then, this galloper looks a chance at odds. Can go forward.

NEWCASTLE R2 #7 MASHRABIYA $1.86

Looks the best of the day. Trialled up very well before the debut. Was slowly away and ended up being posted wide with no cover and only found one better. Can breakthrough here with a better run. Next best #2 Kiss and Tell.

NEWCASTLE R3 #6  FOXY XENIA $7.10

Looked to trial well enough in an open trial with The Bopper. Next best #2 Jaytees looked decent in a recent trial and would not shock to see improvement from #7 Lessing.

NEWCASTLE R6  #1 FAETHM $3.25

Finds a very winnable race and can breakthrough first up.

NEWCASTLE R7 #7  ABSOLUTE LEGEND

I think he can still go through the grades. The 2nd placed horse at Newcastle has subsequently won. #11 Isabella of Aragon made good ground late in a trial against Ball of Muscle and can improve 2nd  up.

MORPHETTVILLE R5 #2 MIDSHIPS $5.10

Another one that I think can go to a new level this preparation.
