CANBERRA R4 #3 FRANKLY SAVVY
Made a stack of ground in the trial prior to the debut, suggesting she would keep improving over more ground. Won well on debut and gets more ground here. Can go forward again without using up much petrol with the inside gate.
CANBERRA R8 #10 ATTESTAR
Did not finish far off them at Goulburn when beaten 1.8L. The third horse Pahang has subsequently won a maiden and the same with the 6th placed horse. Forgiving the last start on the heavy ground.
WYONG R1 #10 KISS AND TELL $2.85
Bit of a bridesmaid but contested a nice maiden at Kembla. I think a few there have nice futures and a repeat of that performance would see her in the finish here.
WYONG R4 #9 MASHRABIYA $2.05
My biggest bet of the day. I was tempted to send this out as early mail tip to followers. I loved the trial when she ran 3rd behind Torun, she moved up under her own steam after the winning post and Torun has performed really well since that trial. The stable mate that finished 4th in that trial has also subsequently won.
WYONG R6 #6 YAMAZAKI $9.10 BEST VALUE
Trialled up super at Warwick Farm against some nice sprinters, including Haut Brion Her. Ran well first up in a nice race in town and looked strong through the line. Can figure here at nice each way odds with a soft run.
DONALD R1 #3 CLEVER APPROACH $1.86
Not beaten far first up for new camp when running 2nd at Ballarat. Fitter for the run. No surprise to see #8 WINNING SUPERSTAR in the finish and including #6 TOKARA HABU in exotics.
DEORA jumped out well before the debut and attracted some big money at Moe. Can improve big time on a dry track. I think #3 ELITE PRINCESS has more ability than she has showed this preparation and would not shock at big odds. Include in exotics. Also including #17 Ivy’s Garden to run a drum after running okay on debut behind Power Station and #16 Mutinous goes okay.
If she runs up to the first up run, she will be in the finish and looks good each way odds. MAXAWAY looks a big danger. I like New Zealand horses coming over here, I feel they usually measure up well and he has jumped out well against some decent horses, including Reformist and No Restriction.
Lightly raced and may race better fresh. In good camp. Open maiden and has a bit of experience on a few here. REDWOOD SHADOW caught my eye in one jump-out when given a quiet time behind Spangirl who goes well. Good camp and jockey.
