CAULFIELD R7 #11  RANTING $8.60

I thought Ranting ran well enough first up at Caulfield. The winner was able to sit off the pace and get him on the line, but this colt still fought on bravely and was going to the front again after the winning post. Should be in the finish again.

ROSEHILL R4 #9  MERLINITE $26.50

Copped a wet track every run this preparation and finds a dry track tomorrow. Bumped into Decroux a few starts ago, that galloper has subsequently franked the form.

GOLD COAST R6 #8  NEXT DIMENSION $4.55

Should get a nice run from the inside barrier and won well first up on Queensland debut.

WARRACKNABEAL R1 #1  JACOB $11.20   #9  ROSE CUVEE $3.05

Jacob was beaten by a big margin when running 3rd at Tatura but he looks to have been beaten by a smart one. Fitter for the run and gets a little bit of weight relief after the claim. ROSE CUVEE is a very lightly raced mare who obviously has some issues but been very competitive in most starts. If sound, will be in the finish.

WARRACKNABEAL  R2 #3  WANTED FOREVER $6.10  #4 BEKSTAR $4.90

I did not mind Wanted Forever in his latest jump-out at Geelong. He looked to roll along out in front at a decent pace with Out of the Park and Count Octave. BEKSTAR was expected to run a big race on debut after a nice quiet jump-out. Unfortunately for my bank balance she found a couple better on the day but given plenty of time to improve. If #12 UNIVERSAL LADY runs, she will be hard to beat. Recently jumped out with a few winners at Caulfield and did not look out of place.

WARRACKNABEAL R4 #14  THE DREAMER $32.00

Was okay first up at Ballarat when finishing 6th. May be better suited on the turf and the 5th placed horse Gwen’s Gift has subsequently run 2nd in a maiden, beaten by a short margin.

KEMBLA GRANGE R2 #1  ALUMNA $14.80   #6 LOVELAND $10.00

Really liked the trial of ALUMNA at Randwick on the heavy ground. She was strong after the winning post and was matching motors with Juan Diva. Skymist won the trial and she has subsequently won a race. Looks a really nice each way bet. I thought LOVELAND looked dececnt in the first trial, not really tested behind Forbidden Love who goes well.

KEMBLA GRANGE R3 #1  CLIFFS OF MOHER $21.50

I have respect for Argenteus, but this gelding has trialled well on a few occasions. He did not look out of place when trialling against Savoury and Shadow Crush, both those gallopers have proven better than maiden grade. He then beat home a couple more winners in another trial, including Miyake and Moon Panther. Fitness should not be an issue and I am confident you will get a run for your money at the big odds. Each way.

KEMBLA GRANGE R5 #4 BALLY BROOK $40.00

Looked to have some ability in a trial at Cowra. Red Beryl finished behind and has subsequently won. Not beaten far on debut and the 2nd placed horse has franked the form. Including #11 FREETHINKER, 14 STILL REIGNING, 16 MIGHTY JIM, 17 BIZ MO in exotics.

PORT MACQUARIE R2 #8 GOLDEN FANTASY $5.60

Went well enough in a trial against I’m Jacko who has already won a few races.
