Fields (and any quoted odds) are correct on at the time of publishing.

Race 4: 2. Phemonoe, 5. Sweeping Statement, 8. Forbidden Love, 9. In A While

I could not leave the Godolphin mare out after last preparation and she is coming off the one trial which was passable. Depending on the track pattern, she could get close with the 3kg claim of Louise Day. Sweeping Statement has talent, but map may harm. Forbidden Love is coming off two good trials and has drawn and maps very well for Canterbury. She is attractive odds of $5.30 with Sportsbetting. In A While goes well fresh and is coming off a nice second to Quantico.

Race 5: 2. Bombdiggity, 7. Damaged, 9. Gunnamatta

Gone a bit narrower in the second leg of the quaddie. Bombdiggity is coming off a nice run on the heavy going at Hawkesbury. He gets a good map off an ideal draw and 2kg off with Brock Ryan aboard. He is $13.00 with Sportsbetting. Damaged is the interesting runner coming off just the one trial. They have an opinion of him sending him to the Kindergarten last prep where he was slow to recover. On class he must be added. Gunnamatta is drawn awkwardly and maps poorly but he runs well fresh and generally races in a forward position. Handling the heavy going is also a tick.

Race 6: 5. Escaped, 8. Olympic Legend, 11. Sauvestre

Escaped looks well placed after running okay in Saturday grade. The form has stood up with Fanciful Dream winning on the Saturday just passed. He is third-up and does handle the going. He also maps well and is drawn ideally. He is $4.50 with Sportsbetting. Olympic Legend is $9.80 with Sportsbetting and looks a good each way play purely on the draw and map. Sauvestre looked impressive in his only race start and is another who is drawn well and will be handy throughout.

Race 7: 2. Tochi, 3. Dalmatia Prince, 5. Monsieur Sisu, 7. Itz Lily

Tochi and Dalmatia Prince meet again over the same track and distance with Dalmatia Prince getting a massive 5kg swing on a 1.5L defeat. Tochi is drawn poorly and will go forward regardless which justifies her inclusion. Dalmatia Prince is $7.10 with Sportsbetting which looks overs, especially considering the drop of 3kg from Tom Sherry, the draw, the map and the fact he doesn’t mind the sting. Monsieur Sisu will also go forward after a very good run in Saturday grade behind Kiss The Bride. Will go forward, gets 3kg off for Louise Day and loves the heavy going. Itz Lily needed to be added as she drops in class and is drawn well.

100% = $180

Race 5: 2. Cracksman, 6. Austria, 7. Wristband, 9. Jane’s Angel

Cracksman looks a genuinely nice stayer and gets to drop in grade whilst being on the quick back up. He is $3.10 with Sportsbetting. Austria gets to 2400m for the first time and drops in grade. Damien Oliver takes the ride and she could be in this race a long way. Wristband didn’t run well last start when the blinkers come off. The blinkers are back on, he gets some sting which is positive and is up to a much more suitable distance. Jane’s Angel who is $21.50 with Sportsbetting, is fit and coming off a decent run at Bendigo last start. She handles the sting, 2400m looks fine and should get a nice run throughout.

Race 6: 1. Fudged, 7. Carrie, 10. Spensierato, 12. Refreshed, 13. Undoubtedly So

Fudged ran well at Cranbourne last start and looks juicy at $18.20 with Sportsbetting. He gets a nice claim and one would assume the price is due to the poor draw. Carrie is first-up here, and she performs solidly fresh. Oliver is aboard and sting is fine, could not leave her out. I couldn’t leave Spensierato out after last start. Ran well at Geelong and gets to a much better track, loves the sting, 1500m is ideal and is drawn well on the quick back up. She is $16.40 with Sportsbetting. Refreshed comes out of the same ran as Spensierato and should run well with Jamie Kah aboard. Stablemate Undoubtedly So loves the sting, is fit, gets a 3kg claim and will appreciate the step up to 1500m.

Race 7: 4. Sabotage, 6. Frankly Harvey, 7. Imperial Lad, 9. Macgyver’s Me Mate

I think this is the make or break leg with 3 of the 4 runners at big odds. Sabotage who is $18.20 with Sportsbetting, is very fit and has run well in better grades previously. Frankly Harvey who is $11.40 with Sportsbetting, gets to have another crack at 1400m which is his ideal distance. The going will suit him down to the ground and looks overs. Imperial Lad was impressive at Cranbourne and looks ready for the 1400m. Macgyver’s Me Mate is a consistent gelding who gets a crack in Victoria. Goes well fresh, loves 1400m, handles the sting and will make his own luck in front. He is $18.20 with Sportsbetting.

Race 8: 1. Mr Tipla, 5. Simply Optimistic, 11. Wilmot Pass, 13. Proper Rouge

Mr Tipla is the value runner of the four. He gets a 2kg claim and steps back to 1200m so he will be hitting the line well on a going which he loves. He is $16.40 with Sportsbetting. Simply Optimistic loves the 1200m and runs well fresh. The going won’t be an issue for him and is a decent each way play. Wilmot Pass is the one to beat as he is drawn well dropping back from a Moonee Valley BM84 where he was well back to a mid-week BM78. He has won here before and comes up at $3.25 with Sportsbetting. Proper Rouge is the main danger to the favourite. He is fit, consistent and has to be a factor.

100% = $320
