NEWCASTLE R2 #2 ZARZOU $2.40

He had to make a wide run with no cover first up after settling at the rear. He ran the fastest last 200m of the race and the 2nd placed horse Minifinn has subsequently franked the form by winning. Second up, fitter and this looks easier. Very hard to beat.

NEWCASTLE R5  #4 REACHING  $2.95 #2 MORETHANNUMBERONE $10.60

Always trialled like a nice horse and has bumped into some decent ones on race day. She bumped into Rocha Clock on debut who has ran well in listed races. She should be ready to go first up after winning her most recent trial, beating Saquon who has subsequently won. MORETHANNUMBERONE record reads really poor but I do not think the stable would continue with the horse if they did not see any upside. Finished alongside Rome last preparation who has subsequently won a race and he also made some ground from the tail when finishing 6th at Kensington.

NEWCASTLE R6 #13  SKY LAB $1.44

Bit tough looking at the odds that have come up after being with him for the past two starts. Should be hard to beat though up in distance and looks a promising stayer.

SALE R1 #1  AKAKA FALLS  $2.45

Looks to have some ability. Won a jump-out at Caulfield beating Express Pass and Mr Vista. Express Pass is pretty handy, and Mr Vista ran well on debut, finishing 2nd, beaten 1L. Including #6 REAL REASON and #7 SAW THAT COMING in exotics, have shown a bit away from the races but hard to have against the fav.

SALE R2 #1 BAROCHA $2.40 BEST BET

I have had a decent bet on this four-year-old gelding. He looked pretty good winning a recent Mornington jump-out. He beat home Princess Jenni and Riddle Me That, both those gallopers are far better than maiden grade. Next Best is #4 RETELL ran well on debut and would expect improved with the spell.

SALE R3 #2 CHINE GROVE $5.50 #6 DEBULLET $37.00

CHINA GROVE did a really good job first up off a spell to run 3rd. He led there and set a fast pace, with the run under the belt now over the 2000m he should improve out of sight. Also having something really small on #6 DEBULLET limited but does keep battling on under pressure and looks suited up in distance.

ROUGHIE

SALE R4 #8 JUNGLE PRINCESS  $32.00

Was well respected by the market when resuming off a long spell at Warrnambool. It was a heavy 10 that day and a lot of horses struggled through the going. Could still be improving and this not the strongest maiden.

SALE R5 #5 WILLYGOOD $2.75

Won in fast time for a maiden when saluting at Moe. Can win again with a repeat performance.
