I thought this mare trialled well at Moruya before her debut. She won the trial beating Rapture Miss who has won four races. She has had a big break and deserves another chance. Next best for exotics #3 Zero Alfa and #9 The Tapster.

MORUYA R2 #5  PAHANG $5.10

Went well enough first up for the new stable when running 3rd behind General Soleil. This maiden does not look any harder and he will strip fitter from the run and stays at the same distance.

This filly jumped out well enough before her debut at Ballarat. She did find a couple better there at Ballarat, but I thought she battled on well enough after looking under pressure when turning for home. She also stuck on well after the winning post to suggest a rise in distance will be ideal and the winner has since run really well in a strong Saturday race.

This filly looked to have nice ability early days. I have in my notes that she travelled better than Hard Landing at the jump-outs but was still level with that smart horse after the winning post. Hard Landing then beat her comprehensively on debut, but it turned out to be a strong form race with the third placed horse subsequently winning the blue Diamond. She had a little excuse of being three wide at her second start and then went over the finishing line at Bendigo with Lunar Fox who is a group 2 winner. Next Best #2 GALAXY TURF was beaten by one that looks above average at Pakenham and should be thereabouts again. #4 LUCKY DOZEN can run 3rd if produces the same effort when running 3rd two starts ago.

Starting to become very costly to my pocket this mare but this looks the easiest race she will contest. It sounds like the stable have a high opinion of Royal filly who proved too good for her at Pakenham and the hardest to beat looks Ocean Blast who finished a small margin in front of her at Pakenham.

I have been sucked in again when I said I would not. I can’t dismiss the flashing 2nd behind Dancing Dollar last start, I think that filly goes fairly well, and this does not look a strong race.

SCONE R3 #5  IT’S ME $4.55

I thought she trialled really well when finishing 5th behind Remlap’s Gem. Remlap’s Gem was ridden to win the trial and was an impressive winner on debut. This mare looked to be under her own steam and travelled alongside Time to Dazzle who is a last start winner. Next best #1 BELLE REVE, beat Swantson in a recent trial who has subsequently won.

Two starts ago this gelding went around in a maiden that included the smart Masked Crusader. Finishing 3rd was Great News who has subsequently won her past two races. Last start he was given a three-month ban after bleeding for the first time and has since been gelded. He has always trialled like a good horse and he should race well fresh. #4 KING CONI thought he trialled well enough before the debut to be a winning chance at Taree but was very disappointing. Few gear changes so could improve. #1 CRYSTAL FALLS has run well in some group races but that was some time ago now and will be much better over further.
