MORPHETTVILLE R7 #9  HYPERSONIC $1.80

He was very impressive when winning on debut at Murray Bridge. The stable look to have a high opinion of the horse and I would expect he can go through the grades and find himself in much better races.

DONALD R3 #5 SPIRIT OF THE CAPE $2.70

He was entitled to feel the pinch late at Ballarat when covering ground with no cover for majority of the trip. He should take sharp improvement fitness wise from the run after coming off a long spell and the form from the race has been ok with 2nd and 4th placed horses both subsequently winning. This is a much weaker race.

KENSINGTON R1 #6 GIOVANNA RUN $3.35

I do not think the slow early pace did her any favours last start. She never looked to be able to relax and find a nice rhythm but still got to the outside and was able to let down with a nice sprint. Unfortunately for her backers, there was another one who was able to sneak up the inside and beat her.  Hopefully, there is a bit more speed on today and she can settle better in the run.

KENSINGTON R2 #4 MR MAGICAL $3.75

This son of Magic Albert is building a nice record with two wins from two starts. I thought he was impressive when winning first up at Nowra and looked strong going through the line to beat the speedy Proud Mia. He gets a bit of weight relief and should appreciate the small step up in distance.

KENSINGTON R9 #13  DERBARI $5.20

I have mentioned before I think this son of Dundeel will keep improving up in distance. He comes off a last start win at Kembla Grange over the 1400m, which he won in good time for that class of race. He also has no weight on his back here with only the 52kg.

TE RAPA R8 #10  PACKING NOBLESSE $5.40

This gelding trialled well in Australia when winning a trial at Cranbourne. He then had one start at Sha Tin and now finds himself in New Zealand.

ROUGHIE

FLEMINGTON R3 #9  SHADOW PREY $36.00

Alcyone obviously looks hard to beat with the 2nd to Cherry Tortoni, but I would rather have a couple dollars each way on the roughie Shadow Prey.  I mentioned before his debut, he matched motors with Smokin’ Romans in a jump-out at Ballarat and looked to travel better late. He then had the measure of the three-year-old Lexington Lad in the next jump-out. He was a bit disappointing on debut, but the winner did go fast early and he may have just used up too much petrol to keep in touch.

FLEMINGTON R6 #3 ALPHAVILLE $12.20

Forget he went around last start at Flemington. He looked to be travelling well but ran up backsides the entire straight and went over the line with plenty to give. That looks a decent form race and with any luck I think he was going to be in the finish. Next best #2 MR CANCUN looks progressive and I will be having a couple dollars eachway on #11 ARCTIC WOLF and #17 LONADO.

GOLD COAST R8 #9  DYNAMIC DUO $2.70

He finally broke through last start for the overdue maiden win. He carried 59.5kg and looked to win with something in hand late.

KEMBLA GRANGE R1 #5 YOUNG HEART $6.70

Patience is wearing thin with this galloper, but I do think a maiden win is within reach. He carried a bit of weight two starts ago when beaten 2.9L by Lady Herbert and then was found to have a poor recovery last start. He has been given a freshen up and has a few gear changes for this.

KEMBLA GRANGE R3 #3  DIAMONDS AND RUST $1.90

Should be at peak fitness and finds a very winnable race.
