GRAFTON R4 #5  MURUNGAL $3.40   #7  ZARU $16.20

Murungal ran 3rd behind the smart Peltzer three starts ago at Kembla Grange. He was then a bit weak late at Kensington but looks to have returned in good order after a freshen, winning first up at Grafton. Not sure how good the opposition was there at Grafton, but he did sit wide in the run and was strong through the line, the race also rated well for that class on the clock. ZARU looks good odds to have something each way. I think he bumped into a fairly speedy one at Taree first up and went fairly close at Taree 2nd up, just finding the one better. The 4th placed horse has since won.

This colt should be hard to beat here. I thought he hit the line really well first up at Bendigo over the 1400m and I like those form lines with American Whiskey. The 5th placed horse Lunchtime Red has ability and has subsequently run well since, narrowly defeated by another horse who I like in Miltida. Next best #2 Category Five and #7 Stannary.

I want to give him another chance second up here. They went very slow there at Geelong and it turned into a sprint home rather than a true staying test. He should improve a lot from the run after a long spell.

I really liked her trials. On the synthetic she led and was nearly joined by the fav here in War Memorial but kicked again and put a margin on the field after the line. The second trial she showed good fight to win again and there was a good margin back to Harmonium who has already been to the races and won. She should give you a good run for your money and I have had my biggest bet of the day on her.

Ran well enough first up at Hawkesbury. Not much looked to make ground from the back but he did run home in the fastest last 200m of the race. Should improve up in distance.

I think he is still learning this bloke, but I think he can keep progressing. He has drawn a nice barrier so he should be able to sit in a forward position again without using up too much petrol early and give a sprint again when asked.
