His record reads poor with the six starts and no placings, but he ran around in some decent maidens last preparation. The most recent start before changing stables, he dropped out in the straight but was entitled to be weak late, after setting a fast-early tempo. He looks to be in good order if the recent Mornington jump-out is any guide, he led and looked strong through the line, beating Catadude who has subsequently ran 2nd in a nice maiden. #2 ARTWORKS looks the danger for mine, has shown some ability in jump-outs and stable are going well.

He broke his maiden status convincingly last start. Winning by 2.5L but Stackhouse was very kind to him over the concluding stages when the race was over. The early pace was very fast there at Pakenham and he ran home in the fastest last 200m of the race. I expect him to handle the step up in grade and the extra distance.

NOWRA R3 #3    MR MAGICAL $1.82

He caught my eye when he won a trial, beating a few that had already been to the races and won. Finishing 3rd in that trial was Airfree, that galloper has subsequently won a benchmark 90. He then went and won his maiden on debut. The form from that race has been franked since, with the 2nd and 3rd placed horses both winning their next start.

Not investing heavily but think he might be worth a couple dollars eachway at the big odds. He looked ok when he won a trial at Nowra back in March. He did not have the best of luck last preparation after being wide early on a few occasions. The blinkers go on for the first time and could spark some improvement.
