ROUGHIES

PORT MAQUARIE R2 #3 GRATED COCUNUT  $55.00

His first trial was at Port Macquarie back in 2018. He was beaten a long way by Awesome Pluck, who goes well but he did finish alongside Petrossian, he has won eight races. The debut was then a forgive run, he sat wide for the trip and looked to over race early. He then went back to the trials and looked ok again, crossing the line close-up to Gordons Leap and Salad Dodger. He is very lightly raced so may have a few issues, but he may have improved and is worth a couple dollars eachway.

MUSWELLBROOK R1 #5  YACAABA $22.00

I am having something small on this filly. The last trial she was beaten out of sight by the winner Partners, but it was an open trial and every other horse in the trial had been to the races and won.

MUSWELLBROOK R3 #13   ANANAGRAM $16.20

Recent trial was okay, was not tested going to the finishing post and kept going with Blazing Tycoon after the line. Blazing Tycoon is better than maiden grade, he recently won a class 3.

BALLARAT R1 #1 BONDI BEAU $7.60  #8 NEVERSHOTTHEDEPUTY $10.40

This colt looked above average when winning a Warrnambool jump-out back in May. He took up the lead and won by a margin with a few behind off the bit chasing. He then recently went around in a jump-out at Caulfield and finished behind the talented Euphoric Summer, she has contested strong races and has subsequently finished 2nd, not beaten far first up. Pinkham was there and has jumped out well again. NEVERSHOTTHEDEPUTY won a jump-out at Mornington that included Agreeable, that filly was impressive on debut, winning by 2L. The next jump-out was also decent work. McArdle is having a good run with his two-year-old’s and he has mentioned that he believes his best one is yet to be raced, this could be it?

BALLARAT R2 #3 CORNER POCKET  $6.60 #5 LEGEND OF ZORRO $16.20

This guy has caught my eye on several occasions, and I think he may be handy. He has matched motors with Mystery Shot on a few occasions at Warrnambool jump-outs. Mystery Shot was impressive when winning on debut by 3L. The trainer Smith was on radio the other day and mentioned that Mystery Shot is his best chance for the weekend in a later race. #1 CATADUDE goes in all exotics, ran well on debut after a nice trial against Sansom. #5 LEGEND OF ZORRO has recently jumped out well, against Wicklow Town and Smokin’ Romans who won impressively on debut. #9 BAIT ZAIN could run a place at odds for the exotics. Backing the #3 and #5. Tri and F4’s 1,3,5,/1,3,5,6,9,10.

BALLARAT R3 #5 NAMA DUDE $7.10

Forgiving last start. Has the ability to win a maiden. Stuck wide with no cover last start so forget he went around at all. Drops in weight here and gets out to a suitable distance.

BALLARAT R4 #8  SACER VATES $7.10

He has returned in good order this preparation. Hitting the line well in both starts and looks suited here out to the 1400m fourth up. I believe he has bumped into a few that look progressive in his previous starts and this looks a winnable race.
