This five-year-old gelding is going to the races for the first time. He caught my eye in the first trial, back in December last year because he went to the finish line under a big hold from the jockey and then pulled himself up into the equal lead after the line. The negative now, nothing has shown anything from that trial, form wise. He has returned this preparation with a recent trial win and looked to move well, the 4th placed horse Happiest has won a race and recently won a trial.

He ran well last start when finishing 2nd at Bathurst behind Eye Will. If he can find the front and roll along out in front, he will take catching. Would be near top fitness.

I liked her first jump-out at Mornington when she finished late under her own steam. Alternate Reality was under a slight ride behind her and has shown some ability by running 2nd on debut. The second jump-out was also impressive, rounding the turn she was able to put a gap on the field with a bit of riding and was not asked for an effort in the late stages but still won by a margin. Finishing behind was Award Winner, that filly won on debut and raced in good company at her next two starts. The trainer was on radio this morning and said she has ability and should appreciate stepping up in distance, so I believe she is worth following.

This colt first caught my eye when he trialled at Rosehill last year. He made good ground in the straight and after the line, finishing alongside Secretively. He has since been sent down to Melbourne and has jumped out well. He looked to be under a nice hold when finishing behind Arzani at Flemington and most recently was not asked for much of an effort when finishing 2nd at Werribee, beating home Widespread and Pouting Lips who have already been to the races and won. The other thing that stands out to me is that he is still a colt. The camp is usually quick to geld and the fact they have not yet, suggest to me they think he goes well.

This son of Star Witness looks to bring the best form into the race by far to me. If he brings his best, I think he is better than this grade and with any luck should win.

WYONG R2 #4   FENECH $4.70

This guy looked fairly good when trialling for the first time at Gosford. He went to the finishing post finishing 2nd but was under a good hold from the jockey and made up good ground to join the winner after the line. The next trial was not as visually impressive to me, but he was not asked for an effort again.  #1 ALPINE RACER has trialled ok early days and a maiden win looks within reach.
