GOSFORD  R3  #1   GREAT NEWS $1.92

This filly looked like she returned in good order this preparation when going over the line with the talented Miss Fabulass in a trial at Gosford. She was then visually impressive when winning first up at Wyong, after being held up before the turn, she burst through a gap in the straight and won by 1.3L. The form out of the race has not been great but we get another chance to see with the 2nd placed Key Largo running around in race 2. This filly looks like she should go through the grades.

I have been following this filly since the start of her career after she matched motors with proven gallopers in a jump-out at Camperdown. She did not look to appreciate the slow early tempo last start at Swan Hill and looked to slightly over race when taking a sit behind the leaders. I thought she was still travelling well when entering the straight but was just outsprinted late when finishing 3rd. This does not look a strong race and she looks progressive.

A shorty but if I think they win I must tip them on top. I was impressed with her trial at Cranbourne when she ran 2nd behind Pouting Lips. That filly had already won a maiden at Echuca and subsequently ran 3rd in a listed race at Morphettville. The debut run at Pakenham was good, when finding clear air in the straight she went past Sacer Vates, he ran well yesterday. I think the winner of that race is pretty handy and this filly will appreciate the extra 100m here. With any luck she should be far too good.

Another filly I have been following from the jump-outs. I fancied her on debut after she won a jump-out at Ballarat, beating a few proven gallopers. The Brickman and Gregorian Chant finished 2nd and 3rd. Gregorian Chant subsequently ran well when resuming from a spell, finishing 3rd in a benchmark 64. Logo Logic was a big margin behind in that jump-out and has since come out and won a maiden. I thought she hit the line well on debut and can go one better here. #5 STRETTO is obviously the main danger and #6 LADYMORE is the one at odds worth including in exotics.

This former New Zealand mare should go close today. She is now 3rd up from a spell and gets a good weight turnaround on Kaimu who beat her last start. There were some big margins back to the opposition behind and the race rated well on the clock.
