Canberra R2 #8 FIGHT FOR LOVE $4.05
She does not have the best record, but she finds a maiden that is not strong here. When she trialled last year at Warwick Farm in August, she showed a bit of ability when winning the trial and matching motors with Threeood, that mare has proved she is much better than maiden grade after recently running 3rd in a benchmark 70. The key might be that she has not had a trial leading into this first up and may run better fresh.
This colt by Zoustar was a red-hot favourite on debut. He ended up running at $1.40 after looking good in a few jump-outs, leading into that first time at the races. Although it was disappointing to see him only manage 3rd if you were on him that day, the run still had merit. He was only collared late, and the 5th placed horse Lunar Fox has franked the form by subsequently winning a group 2 at Flemington. The recent jump-out suggest he is in good order, beating home Crystal Chief who has since ran a close-up 3rd at Flemington. #1 ALTAI RANGER is also a bet at the bigger odds, if you were impressed with the debut of Terrace House yesterday then you must have something on this gelding. He matched motors with him in a recent jump-out at Caulfield. Beating the rest by a big margin.
Stawell R1 #5 INZAGHI $2.00
Surely today is the day this filly can breakthrough. She meets a very winnable maiden that does not look strong at all. I would expect Matthew Allen can go forward and lead and now that she is having her fourth run this time in, she should be reaching peak fitness and take a stack of running down. I will be shocked if she does not win.
Coffs Harbour R2 #12 VALLEJO $9.50
The only poor race she has run was on debut when she had a genuine excuse. She has her hoof on the till with two 2nds from her last two starts and she looks to be looking for the extra distance she gets today.
Stawell R4 #6 NAMA DUDE $16.20
Hopefully third time lucky tipping this son of Rebel Raider. I thought the first up run was a pass mark. He was strong through the line there at the 1350m and the step up in distance 2nd up looks ideal. The race at Donald also rated well on the clock for a maiden.
