Ballarat R1  #1  DIMAGGIO $1.82

This is a race that I think we can play the exotics. I have DIMAGGIO on top, jumped out well before his debut but had excuses there at Cranbourne, finishing 4th behind the smart King of Hastings. He has been given plenty of time to mature and has been gelded since. The most recent jump-out he looked sharp, travelling better than Moyassar, who has subsequently run well. #2 LEXINGTON LAD looks to have ability, connections have given him plenty of education with jump-outs before going to the races. He travelled well in one of those jump-outs and matched motors with the well performed Grand Promenade. The most recent Caulfield jump-out was decent work, he was not asked for much of an effort and finished close-up to Nasukawa. Immortal Love was behind and has subsequently won his debut by 2L. Next Best is #7 LANI BANG BANG was not tested latest jump-out and stable are in form, looks a place chance. #13 Callim Wotulike can go into wider Trifecta’s and First 4’s.

Ballarat R4 #11   WILD GERANIUM $23.50

She does not have the best record, but I think she gets a few things in her favour here. Early days she looked to have a bit of speed when jumping out at Ballarat and she has shown she handles the synthetic track when jumping out on her home track, recently winning a jump-out there since the last start 5th at Werribee. The tongue tie goes on which could explain the disappointing run last start and if they could be positive and go forward from the inside barrier today, I think she could give them something to catch at odds.

Ballarat R5 #1 DEE KEEPA $2.90

I was keen to see this ex kiwi mare make her Australian debut. She had caught my eye a few times at the jump-outs and after looking at her NZ replays, she looked like she could progress through the grades. She did not help her chances when first up at Werribee when being slowly away, but she did end up finishing close-up to Lombardo who had a big wrap on him after winning his debut by 4L. The step up in distance to the 1400m should be much more suitable and will strip fitter from the first up run.

Tamworth R8 #7  AGRAPART $1.94

This filly looked good when winning last start. She managed to find the front from an inside gate easy and I think she can do the same here. The horse she beat there Ciao Uno had a wrap on her after her trials and started a short favourite after being well backed. The figures from the race were good for maiden company and if she repeats that performance here, she can lead and win again.
