Flemington R2 #3  BETTER KICK   $3.75    #9  MISS BOSETTI $4.35

BETTER KICK is a flashy looking type with a white blaze and white socks. He jumped out well last preparation and looked ready to go the races, but the trainer mentioned yesterday on radio that they had to stop, as he was pulling up shin sore. He has since returned and is still jumping out well, winning his latest jump-out comfortably and had the ears pricked. MISS BOSETTI is a filly I have had a bit of time for a while now. She has always shown good natural speed and her recent jump-out at Flemington, she hit the front and won under her own steam. Forgive the debut, she was constantly blocked for a run in the straight and can fight the finish out here. Exotic players – 3,9/1,7,8.

Kembla Grange R1 #2   RALPH’S FOLLY $2.95

I tipped him on debut at Hawkesbury when he was heavily backed. He was pretty disappointing to the eye because I thought he looked to have shown a fair amount of ability at the trials. After watching the replay, he was a bit one paced in the straight, but he did stick on and was there amongst the place getters after the winning post. The drop back in distance looks ideal and he can hopefully roll along out in front and sneak a break on them.

Kembla Grange R4  #9  YOUNG HEART $4.70

I think he comes from the right form race. The time rated well for maiden class at Warwick Farm and the horse that finished 3rd  there , More Prophets is the favourite in the following race. He has always looked to my eye, that he would appreciate getting over distance, so the extra 100m should suit and he will strip fitter 2nd up.

Warracknabeal R2  #3  HUNKA HUNKA HARRY $4.25

He has gone close on a few occasions now and can breakthrough here. On debut he bumped into Magnavale and just failed to run her down, running 2nd and was only beaten by 0.2L. The second start he bumped into a handy one called The Mobot, who has subsequently won a benchmark 70. The connections have given him a good spell and he looks to have appreciated the time off, returning with a nice jump-out. #5 SKY TOUCH I tipped him first up at Bendigo, prepared to forgive the run, after a long time off. Would be competitive at odds if ran up to debut run. Next Best #8 MISS AMELIA looked like a star early days when in trialling in NSW, would not shock.

Roughie

Warracknabeal  R1 #2  Don’t Throw Stones $28.00

Could run a cheeky race at big odds. Given a good spell and could go to the front here and give them something to catch. The short straight will also be in his favour if he finds the lead and makes it a genuine run 1200m.
