Ballarat R1 #8 SPRING BREAK $2.15
Best Bet for the day. Was keen on him at Geelong when he was on debut, after a few nice jump-outs. Unfortunately for those that backed him that day, me included, he was taken back to last soon after the start and that is where he stayed until they turned for home. He did work home well and made good ground in the straight but also laid in, which did not help his chances. The ground he made past the winning post suggest the extra distance will suit. He was also reported to have pulled up coughing post-race.
Ballarat R6 #3 ELUDING $2.60
He was impressive when winning on debut at Ballarat. It was not an easy task that was set, it was his first time to the races, and it was on a heavy 10 track over 1400m. He also showed good fight to win after the 2nd placed horse Rising Archie had gone past him as they were turning for home. Rising Archie has franked the form since by winning his next start, beating Gaucho. Gaucho came out yesterday and won. #9 Loe, has taken a while to break through but now can go on with it.
Wagga R3 #6 ROCK ‘N’ TORI $35.00
I think she may run a cheeky race at odds here. Her trial at Wagga before her debut was ok, she was competitive late against Enzed Beer, he has already won three races. Finishing 2nd was Coolyboss who has won a maiden. She missed the kick on debut which obviously did not help and found herself at the back for the entirety of the race. The form from the race has been decent, with the 2nd and 3rd placed horses subsequently winning.
