Bendigo R1 #7 The Billionaire $2.95

This two-year-old colt has caught my eye a few times at the jump-outs. He first went around at Flemington back in November last year and looked impressive when finishing second to Avenue of Pleasure. Avenue of Pleasure was ridden to win the jump-out and subsequently placed 3rd in listed grade. Behind was Fresh, she won her first start impressively and went on to run 2nd in Group 3 company. The recent jump-out suggest he has come back well this preparation, winning by a big margin and the stable definitely know how to train a two-year-old. The danger is #5 On the Program, untested in latest jump-out and looked to move well.

Bendigo R4 #13 Tralee Rose $2.10

I thought this filly jumped out well at Camperdown. She kept up under a bit of riding with talented speedster Tavisan, and recent class 1 winner Red Rossini. She then went to Geelong for her debut and attracted some early market support after opening $20+ and firming into $8.50. Not much went right after that. She was slowly away and found herself towards the rear as they turned for home with a wall of horses in front. I think she still battled on well in the straight after finding clear running. The winner Turbeau has some ability and the time was several lengths faster than the average maiden. She should improve second start up in distance.

Kembla Grange R2 #3 Blueant $6.60

I was impressed by this gelding’s trial at Warwick Farm. He was ridden a bit to win the trial, but he beat a quality mare in Miss Exfactor, she subsequently won a group 3 race two starts later, impressively by 2.3L. The work after the line by Blueant in that trial was also pleasing, maintaining a good gallop after the winning post. Not much then went right on debut. He was stuck wide throughout but still fought on bravely to run 2nd. The market support suggested he was going to run a big race, backed in from $5.50 -$3.30. The horse that is over the odds is #1 Sethlans, an ex Godolphin runner who has trialled well previously but had issues race day. Resumes here with the tongue tie and no trial.
