Racepal Doomben Preview – 13th November 2019

Rail: +10m entire course
Weather: Hot and sunny
Track Condition: Good 4
Track Expectations: A fast track is expected at Doomben and with the rail out 10 metres, racing on speed will be an advantage.

Race 1

Sizzling Power couldn’t quite hold on at 1350m last time out and the drop back in distance suits. She’ll be trying to find the front from a wider alley. Central America can use the inside alley to race handily and contend.

Verdict: Sizzling Power

Race 2

Valet produced a likeable trial and now draws to hold a forward position in running. Waipiti ran second to a handy one at Eagle Fam on debut at any old odds – the start will be key for him.

Verdict: Valet

Race 3

The Administrator should lead this. This is Sanglier’s first go beyond 1200m, up in trip he should hold a position from gate 2 but the trip is no guarantee. Ziemba resumes and is also untested at the distance.

Verdict: Sanglier

Race 4

A few key to press forward over 1350m. Bonanova’s Dream can lead or sit – either way she is progressive and the journey poses no issues. Ceol Na Mara has proven herself to be up to this class.

Verdict: Bonanova’s Dream

Race 5

The filly Sizzling Power looks hard to beat if here rather than Race 1. She can lead and show improvement from the last start effort when up in trip. Salina will be poised to strike with a drop on the leader.

Verdict: Sizzling Power

Race 6

The longest race on the card over 1660m. With speed from the bookends this may be a genuine tempo – Captivator can run over the top if he finds cover. Saxton Rock makes obvious claims but may be vulnerable late.

Verdict: Captivator

Race 7

This is a drop in grade and rise in trip for Stella Ombra. From the inside gate and on the minimum he will take catching. Tawfiq Boy should get a nice run and Shauquin will ensure the gallop is genuine from a wide draw.

Verdict: Stella Ombra
