Rail Position: +8M ENTIRE
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Good 4
Weather: Fine

Expecting this to favour horses near the pace but the potential with right race shape and larger fields for the far outside lane to come into play which is usually worth a 1-2 lengths. It is just a matter of what you have to spend to get there.

Race 1

The price differential between some of these babies is rather incredible. Diverse industry this is!

That being said, I’m with the million dollar filly that the Snowdens bring to the race called Close To Me. Trialled like a really smart horse. Anders won big in his second trial against an average lot? Looks a bit of a gap to the rest with Dame Giselle also trialling well.

Verdict: Close To Me

Race 2

Really not keen to bet into this race at all! Fast Talking drawn barrier 12 for G Boss rates highly. Horse is going really well. Excuses last start. Lost Command I think will go up a value price here. If we get $15+ happy to spec her small. Like the drop in distance, like the dry track she will get.

Verdict: Lost Command EW

Race 3

Villami is well placed here. Very well placed. Also nominated for Melbourne, where will she go? Fancy this is slightly easier. Hulk still a maiden, bizarre placement here though? Faretti has gone up short but the boom colt (2M purchase) will have some admirers and is obviously untapped after just two race starts.

Verdict: Villami

Race 4

Interesting clash form lines and setup here. Luvaluva and Mccreery two talented resuming stayers. Greyworm making his own luck near the speed makes him top pick here. Improvement his main danger. A mare with a lovely record at Randwick and had plenty of excuses at Caulfield.

Verdict: Greyworm

Race 5

Good race. Finally! Reelem In Ruby is a talented mare with a turn of foot. Right in this but potential sticky draw. Multaja rates nicely here stepping to 1200m and she has run well second-up in the past so willing to forgive effort fresh when favourite. Madam Rouge next best.

Verdict: Multaja

Race 6

Another good betting race this. We have some old warriors, some imports and a really fancy new kid on the block. Attention Run is nommed in Melbourne? Key player here too. Master Of Wine on the upward spiral and don’t think he is done yet. Have to stick with him after huge win last start. Master Of Arts is building into a big rating and I can see him being in the placings here.

Verdict: Master Of Wine

Race 7

You’d expect Bottega to be put into the race this time around. Surely! Just Thinkin’ will be up near the speed, Colada can be as well. Given the weight he is getting after competing in better races than most of these have it is hard to knock Kubrick who has drawn to get a lovely run in the first six. Crazy that this is a million dollar race.

Verdict: Kubrick

Race 8
Big field! Poised To Strike maps nicely just off the speed I think with T Clark on a big plus. No luck last start. Man Of Peace trialled well for this. Could be big odds. Testifier a tough one to mark fresh. Maps well enough to blend into the race but trials only so-so to my eye.

Verdict: Poised To Strike EW

Race 9

Another big field and there is a chance they are off the fence a little and the outside rail is in play? Romani Girl stalking the speed midfield off the fence with cover rates nicely here. In form and should hold it. Sure Knee may get into a sticky spot bottled up slightly worse than midfield while Bergen will give them something to run down.

Verdict: Romani Girl
