Racepal Eagle Farm Preview – 19th October 2019

Rail Position: True
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Good 4
Weather: Fine

The track drained so well last week and played very even, also. Expect more of the same with the Rail remaining in the True position. Mick Goodie has got Eagle Farm back to where it needs to be.

Race 1

A rather Ipswich Wednesday looking meeting this is! Pleased is hard to knock here but $3 is short enough. Go Dixie is the ‘map’ horse and early value who settles in behind the speed for a decent jockey in Wiggins. No knock Boncasta or Ready For Danger at the prices. Surprised if any other wins.

Verdict: Go Dixie

Race 2

Two runners just owning the market here in Gotta Kiss and Rothfire. Rothfire has looked good in trials and jump-outs but the former has race experience on her side. No betting here but do favour the toppy.

Verdict: Gotta Kiss

Race 3

Shalwa looks short at $2.50 as does V J Day at $3.40. Vienna Power is a 6YO with only five starts to his name. Good fresh form and a capable galloper. Fancy Jimmy Byrne can hold the lead or leaders back from the low draw and give a good sight here.

Verdict: Vienna Power

Race 4

Rather even race that is hard to get too excited about. Removal goes on top I think here with the soft draw and nice trial prior. Jadentom is a good fresh horse too. Takes Time will make ground late and fill a hole.

Verdict: Removal

Race 5

Aeecee Tong De was backed as soon as markets went up. Gets a cosy run in transit with good jockey booked. Great Keppell should enjoy Eagle Farm and Francisca getting to the mile is a big plus. Quick back-up perhaps a small positive also.

Verdict: Francisca EW

Race 6

Good race but a stack of chances to sort out. Cool Sequence may not get all his own way here out in front. Stella Victoria will keep him company on speed. Tawfiq Boy maps nicely in behind the speed and is the better value in the early play.

Verdict: Tawfiq Boy

Race 7

Auerbach is top pick but has to overcome a sticky map. Drop in weight is key. Sabkhat well placed to run well, Zofonic Dancer nest best. Another Dollar looks rather short at $4.80 in the early betting.

Verdict: Auerbach

Race 8

Happy to take on the top weight and current favourite here in Better Reflection. Written With Ease currently no jockey perhaps will be scratched? Winning Shot value as is Patches. Atlantic King can hold the rail and stick on.

Verdict: Boxed Trifecta with numbers 2,3,4,5

Race 9

Flaming Boss will be the rage here. Unbeaten and untapped horse who can keep winning. The gelding makes his own luck on the speed and has to be top pick here. Dreamreacher tracks the speed and is the main danger.

Verdict: Flaming Boss

Race 10

Huge field to finish the day that will see many battlers going wide in the quaddie. Two runners appeal here at each-way odds. Barefoot will appreciate Eagle Farm and with some tempo on be strong late. Prefer him more on the place line. The Fire Trap is an interesting runner who looks ready to win now. Step to 1400m comes at the right time and he maps really sweetly stalking the speed.

Verdict: The Fire Trap
