Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Good 4
Meteorite is going to be all the buzz here. Looks very hard to beat with some race experience on his side. Billjim did enough on debut and the trials prior were good. Can bounce back. Our Chevalier right down the bottom if gets a start is one to watch. Think 1400m will suit better but has some ability.
Tricky race to assess with so many only stepping from maiden grade and the jury is out on whether they can measure up to a stern test. Selica looks for sure to be above average. Top pick here despite somewhat tricky map. Second pick Tragic also has a chance of being posted three wide but looks ready to run a new peak. Springrolls the best roughie outside of the main chances. Gets a lovely run.
Serenade the Stars gets a very winnable race here over 3000m. No doubt he has been racing in better company in recent years and looks to be in an ok form finally. Da Deputy is an honest plugger, Ocean Walzer is the one who can blow them away if it all clicks. Young Hostess makes own luck on speed.
Verdict: Ocean Walzer
Egyptian Gold looks well suited here either leading or sitting in behind the lead. Naivasha back near last on the rail is hard to find. Akamon comes back from Adelaide and should race near the speed.
Verdict: Egyptian Gold
If Peak gets a start here he can give this a shake. Maps well to stalk the speed and finish over the top. Sartorial Splendor will have some admirers but gee it is a tricky map for Jordan Childs. He will have to bounce well. Saorsa is one roughie who gets a nice map here if looking for something out wide.
Verdict: Peak if he gets in. Otherwise Saorsa small EW
Lord Durante is still going around… 11YO if you don’t mind! Aristocratic Miss maps perfectly here and looks very hard to beat. Excuses last time and this is a soft race. Play Me Now is a big market and yard watch. Likely leader.
Verdict: Aristocratic Miss
I expect the market sees this as a race in three between Three Beans, Banger and Ambleve. Three Beans probably leads but there is no shortage of other challengers. Ambleve is a chance to be posted wide or at least have to work outside the speed. Banger will be back a few pairs but think given he will be more effective over further he can be strong late and mow them down.
Probably the best race of the night in terms of betting angles. It is a pity that with four emergencies right now market percentage is a bit of a trap. Can’tforgetyou is the roughie you want to be on if they can make the field. Double figure odds now is good shopping. Big Suzie off a freshen maps well back in trip. Dancing Tycoon needs the three-wide line with some cover in the run. Mischa needs luck three back the fence and Dame Of Thrones is a bit overrated I think.
Verdict: Going wide! 8,13 include in multiples.
