Meeting: Doomben
Date: 25 September
Rail: +8m entire course
Weather: Fine
Track Condition: Soft 5 (Monday)
Track Expectations: Fine and 25 degrees in Brisbane leading into the Doomben memeting

Race 1

Felzone looks to have found a suitable maiden and is the one they’ll all need to run down. Steel Pier is also up in trip and should get the drop on the leader.

Race 2

Divine Decadence will race on the pace at her second career start and be improved by the debout outing. Telecom Danewin will follow her over and apply pressure throughout, with the resuming Construe notably racing below 1400m for the first time.

Race 3

The debutant Winning Brothers impressed at the trials but has draw the far outside in a big field. It makes Fa Fa a more attractive proposition from a middle draw with an extra 200m to extend. My Boy Sam will be hitting the line with clear running in the straight.

Race 4

A number of go-forward types engaged over the mile. Bering Sea will bide his time in the second half and is historically well performed at the mile third up. Conquer The Stars should enjoy a kinder run from the low draw and is most fancied of the front-running group.

Race 5

The Real Spiel is racing consistently at this distance range and can lead or sit from the inside gate. Momentum To Win should settle midfield and will be grinding to the line while a positive ride from Nothdurft on Open Road can put him in contention.

Race 6

See Me Fly’s Melbourne form commands respect and the claim is useful. He’ll be making a late surge in pursuit of Conquermore and Buffy, for whom the start is all-important. Limerick Moon will be surging if he can secure cover in transit from a wide alley.

Race 7

From the low draw Ella Divine should settle handily and put herself in the race, she looks suited in this event. Marmaris is back in grade and gets the apprentice’s weight relief. He’ll be hitting the line well as will Great Keppell, who has a sticky draw and map to contend with in pursuit of a hat-trick

Race 8

Good race to finish the day and a bit of speed engaged. Beacon, Fratellino and Time To Play are all on-pace chances. Beacon may take the sit of the three. Barrier one may be a blessing or curse for the fast-finishing Happy Hooves. Luck at the turn after a ground-saving trip can see him hit the line hard.
