Meeting: Doomben
Date: 18th September
Rail: +6m
Weather: Fine
Track Condition: Soft 5
Track Expectations: Rail out to six and this is the third meeting in a week. It really is a great track given the racing it cops. No rain around, expect it will favour leaders. The drier it gets, the more favourable it will be.

Race 1

Cunnard to roll forward with the apprentice jockey on. Top Me Up Again should stalk the speed and if he settles be hard to beat. Couldn’t Refuse will spot a start which isn’t ideal here so expect some layers in the market for him.

Race 2

Helter skelter maiden. Alderman did enough in his race starts to date to suggest he will be better than the majority of these. Drawn to hold a prominent spot in run as well. Atlantic King has had three trials leading into the debut run and they have booked a quality senior jockey in Jim Byrne.

Race 3

The market should find Get Stuck In here. Will go forward, is now fit and up to right distance range. Vaulting Ambition may be able to settle closer from the low draw, a chance on best form while Spending My Time looks likely to run a decent race again.

Race 4

Great little race. Pinnacle Star looks really smart and on the way up. The issue is how far back he gets as we are expecting leader bias. Dream Master obvious forgive after tipping off the rider last start.

Race 5

William may be a good roughie from the low draw with good apprentice jockey Steph Thornton on top. Don’t Doubt Lara a good place chance, should be hitting the line strongly.

Race 6

Eric The Eel probably the most intriguing runner of the day resuming off a decent campaign as a two year-old. Trialled up ok, will be hard to beat. Hit Snooze the roughie leader and Miss Cavallo the best of the others.

Race 7

Umberto will have backers and layers here I think. Frustrating horse with ability. Ocean Ruler is in form and will be up on the speed again. A chance to win again. River Flyer needs to bounce well from the wide alley.

Race 8

Hollaback Girl maps nicely on the freshen up but Heritage Sash is the real key runner here. Quality jockey booking and from barrier five I think they will stay in touch with the leaders and be too strong late.
