Thankfully for the international break has ended and for the first time in 2 weeks we get some Premier League football back. It seems like forever ago we were being treated to a fiery North London derby. After several big games to start the season this week seems little subdue with the quality of matches.
This week kicks off at Anfield, with Liverpool $1.13 hosting Newcastle $25. This game was always fun in the late 90’s/early 00’s, always full of drama and goals, its difficult to see this one being any more than a walk in the park for Liverpool. The only team to win all 4 games so for will be looking to make 5/5. Newcastle haven’t got any love from the punters, but its worth keeping in mind that their only win this year came as rank outsiders away to Spurs, can lightning strike twice? I think this will be a pretty simple game for Liverpool and will run out comfortable winners 4-0/4-1.
We have 5 games at midnight, 3rd place Leicester $3.75 travel to Old Trafford to take on United $2.02. The Foxes have started the season well and are the only team outside Man City and Liverpool to have not tasted defeat. United have struggled early, and the loss of Paul Pogba is not going to help their cause, having already lost at home to Palace, there is some good value around Leicester, if you bet on form and not names Leicester would be a lot shorter in the market, if you want a bit of protection Leicester in the draw no bet market at $2.6 is a nice bet.
Other games at this time include Spurs $1.38 hosting Palace $8.20, Palace like Leicester has started the season well and sit in 4th place at the moment, they head to take on a Tottenham side who last time played at home looked uninspired and lost 1-0 to Newcastle. Spurs were also lucky to beat Villa at home and need late goals to get over the line. Brighton $2.11 host Burnley $3.55, Chelsea $2.44 head to Wolves $2.88 and Sheffield United $2.46 host Southampton $2.94. Man City $1.11 round out Saturdays play as they head to Norwich $29, should be another win for Pep and his troops.
2 games come to watch on Sunday, the early game has potential to be the best game of the weekend as Everton $2.32 head south to face Bournemouth $2.96, I am a little shocked with the market figures was a little surprised to see Everton favourites. Bournemouth have lost their last 2 but to Man City and at Leicester, Everton are yet to win away from Goodison. Later on Sunday Watford $3.6 after a dismal start, which saw them sack their manager, hope to kickstart their season when they host Arsenal $1.98. Arsenal were dealt a blow as Lacazette will be out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury.
Last game of the round come early Tuesday morning as the battle of claret, as West Ham $2.56 travel to Villa Park to tackle Aston Villa $2.60. It will be the first primetime game back at Villa Park. The Hammers have won their last 2 games in Premier League and their only loss this year was to Man City.
