Date: 14th September
Track Condition: Good 4
Track Expectations: A small shower or two leading in but the track dries so well this will be a perfect racing surface on Saturday. Rail True should give them all a chance.

Key runners and ones to watch:
- Hangman he is a horse that needs a solid tempo to produce his best and he should get that here. The run first-up was a bit plain but nothing more than a hit-out. Back to his home track, a spacious track that will suit him up in distance. He also gets D Dunn ON which is an upgrade over M Dee and in a race with exposed form and horses on the way down, he is an untapped runner to watch closely.
- Yucatan the son of Galileo is a very intriguing runner. He has only won three races but showed a stack of ability and has competed with some of Europe’s best middle distance and staying types. The run at Caulfield in his first Australian start last year was simply superb and elite WFA standard. He is good enough to win over 1600m on Saturday but more importantly, the run may decide what comes next. Cox Plate? Or do they target the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.
Well, if you knew both of Lloyds would be on the quick back-up here would you have backed them last week? Douglas Macarthur and King Of Leogrance were both pass mark type runs and both capable of much better. Expect that they both need a win to up their ratings and the tactics of at least one of them will be more positive this week.
Absolute Flirt was beaten by a smart one last start. Trained at the track which is often a nice positive with juveniles down the straight. Athiri back in distance, imagine they ride her really cold from that gate, though. Paris might be the blowout? Drops back to 3YO company and brings a strong SP profile.
Great race! Glad they have put Shotmaker to 1400m here. He had a few excuses fresh and did need the run. Looks overs here. Missile Mantra closed well in that same race, looks like 1400m will suit very much as well. Scottish Dancer went well on debut and Tenley was ok in a hot race fresh.
Some real form clashes here make it an interesting race to weigh up. Tarwin who we highlighted last week could just be one out of the box. Serious upside. Rox The Castle is well found but will make his own luck on the speed presuming Craig Williams can get him across easy enough. Romancer is flying. Appreciates Flemington,
A classic race, the Danehill. Dubious has blinkers on but needs to improve. Super Seth went well fresh, Sebrakate was unlucky in that same race. Express Pass bounces out of a Bendigo maiden into a hot race while Lyre is the Blue Diamond winner we’ve all forgotten, she will improve off her fresh run, but she will have to!
Spanish Whisper’s price has been smashed early, a shame as she was a decent bet early. Fundamentalist is also accepted in Sydney, leading chance. Music Bay trialled well then ran super first-up.
Deep race outside of the Tasmanian mare. I think she will have some layers out there this week. Scales Of Justice is absolutely flying but off a career peak in a fast run Memsie, is a chance for a mini flat run. Humidor, Kings Will Dream and Nights Watch will all love 1600m and we have Yucatan the one time Melbourne Cup favourite of 2018 here as well.
Streets Of Avalon has bulked up. He ran well fresh after a great trial. Watch for him after this run at 1400m to run a new peak. Renewal is a good fresh horse but has his first look down the straight. Sadler has a huge opinion of Usain Bowler who has had attention in the early markets while Demerara has to be close to top pick given her fresh record and recent trial.
Really not sure what to make of Sully who is being tipped up by a few. Think he may be a run short and the low draw is a concern. Hangman did enough fresh and will improve sharply this week, hoping the market misses him. Positive jockey and track change to go with a good map.
