Meeting: Canterbury Park
Date: 11th September
Rail: True
Weather: Fine
Track Condition: Good 4
Track Expectations: Track will be pretty firm and we can expect this to play like a typical Canterbury. Advantage to those settling in the first few.

Key runners and ones to watch:

  • Erno lightly raced, promising gelding for Kim Waugh, Notice that Husband, Mark, is in the ownership group. By boom young sire Rubick, the horse is yet to put in a bad performance. James McDonald sticks after being on when the horse ran second first-up at Warwick Farm. Expect it runs a new peak this time and should be in the finish.
  • Appian Way She was a mare with Darren Weir last year who is now in the Snowden camp. They got her to win first-up too! She always had plenty of ability and the win fresh showed enough to suggest she can win again through the grades. Expect she runs well down in weights with a positive jockey change.

Race 1

Colada is better than maiden grade and didn’t have much luck last start. Like Robbie Dolan on. Blinkers go on Way Back When which is a good sign of intent for Bowman/Waller. Parche will likely spot them a start but has talent.

Race 2

Like the fact that Sakura has trialled twice leading into this. She should be ready. Dance Hall Girl as an on-pacer should be better for the fresh run while Miss Scorcher gives some weight to her rivals and will be on pace.

Race 3

Astralis will be handy and better for her fresh effort. Freshen for this and a trial in between. Papal Warrior is a horse the owners seem to have a bit of time for. New stable and did trial well I thought.

Race 4

Kylease comes in ready to go fresh off two decent trials. Appian Way went up big odds as I expected, but she has talent. November Man will run better than he did last start and perhaps a decent each-way bet.

Race 5

Erno goes up short and for good reason. Really promising type. Quadriga another talented type who is resuming off a smart trial. Lilith comes to town off a decent win. Fancy you’ll get a price to see if she can measure up.

Race 6

Very open race on our early ratings. Achondrite with the typical Waller build up and should be ready to produce something now. Misty Summer gets a nice run in behind the speed and should be big odds. Perfect Rhyme drops in grade you’d fancy, will the market find him?

Race 7

Another even race to finish the quaddie with the first emergency Paulo Place a strong chance if he gets in. Waking Moment drops to a winnable race while Beaufort Park looks set to peak.
